Pleasantville's civic anchor is the Jacob Burns Film Center, one of the region's better independent-cinema programs, and the downtown around the Metro-North Harlem Line station carries a walkable mix of restaurants, bakeries, and a farmers market in season. Grand Central is 45 minutes off-peak. Pleasantville opted out of adult-use cannabis retail, so there is no licensed dispensary in the village. Residents shop in White Plains or up in Ossining and Peekskill. Consumption stays off public space across the village and county parkland footprint.
