Bedford carries the landscape anchor of Northern Westchester. Bedford Village's green, the long horse-country road network up to the Connecticut line, and the Pound Ridge Reservation on the eastern edge. The scale is low-density, old-New-England, the kind of town where the town center is three rooms and a post office. Bedford opted out of adult-use cannabis retail, so there is no licensed dispensary in town; the closest licensed shops are in Pound Ridge and Ossining. Cannabis can't legally cross the Connecticut line in either direction. Consumption stays off public space, and the reservation is county parkland.
