Peekskill and Croton-on-Hudson Weekend Cannabis

Peekskill and Croton-on-Hudson are the less-touristed northern rivertowns of Westchester. Art studios, Hudson River views, and fewer crowds. Here is the 21+ weekend rhythm.

Peekskill and Croton-on-Hudson anchor Westchester's less-touristed northern rivertown stretch. Peekskill has an arts-district downtown that has been rebuilding for two decades, with open studios, a working artists community, and Hudson River frontage at Riverfront Green Park. Croton-on-Hudson sits just south with its own quieter charm, Croton Gorge adjacent, the Old Croton Aqueduct trail running through. The weekend getaway for cannabis-consuming adults 21 and over leans into the quieter texture.

Friday Evening Into Peekskill

Arrive Friday evening via Metro-North's Hudson Line directly into Peekskill station, or by car up Route 9. Check into one of the downtown hotels or a nearby inn. Dinner in the Peekskill arts-district restaurants, several of which have quietly added THC-seltzer options to their beverage programs. Back to the room for a 2.5 milligram edible around 10.

Saturday, the Art Walk and Croton-on-Hudson

Saturday morning belongs to the Peekskill Open Studios pattern, when it is running, or to gallery-walking the downtown district on any given weekend. Art looking is the rare activity that a very low dose of cannabis, 2 milligrams, might complement for some consumers. The dose is the variable. Higher doses break focused attention.

Saturday afternoon drives south to Croton-on-Hudson. Croton Gorge State Park is worth the stop for the dam view. The park is state-owned, so no consumption. The nearby Old Croton Aqueduct trail runs through Ossining and connects a longer walk if the weekend calendar allows.

Saturday Evening, Hudson River Sunset

Peekskill's Riverfront Green Park is public. New York state law prohibits cannabis consumption on state-owned land and in public spaces, and a county-managed waterfront park qualifies. Watch the sunset sober. Head back to the hotel room or rental for the evening's cannabis rhythm.

Sunday Wind-Down

Sunday morning runs slow. Brunch in downtown Peekskill or Croton. A walk. Back toward home by early afternoon. The weekend ends with more decompression than it started with, which is the whole reason for picking the less-touristed northern rivertowns over Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow.

Sourcing

Peekskill's licensed market has grown. Croton-on-Hudson's is thinner. Ossining sits nearby. Always verify licensed status via the OCM QR code at cannabis.ny.gov before buying.
