Croton Point Park, the Croton Dam, and a Hudson Line terminus that marks the northern edge of close-in Westchester.
Croton-on-Hudson sits at the point where the Hudson Line's close-in commuter rhythm starts to give way to the longer-haul northern-Westchester vibe. Croton Point Park pushes into the river, the Croton Dam overlook is one of the region's bigger landscape moments, and the village itself keeps a walkable downtown near the train. Licensed dispensaries are opening on a slower cadence north of the Tappan Zee line than in Yonkers or White Plains, so Croton residents cross-shop toward Peekskill or Ossining. Cannabis consumption in the park footprint is state-land prohibited, evening rituals stay private-property.
