Dispensaries in White Plains, NY: Five Licensed Shops, From Mamaroneck Avenue to Central Avenue

White Plains has five operating licensed dispensaries on the state's list, split between the downtown grid and the Central Avenue side of the city. Here is where each one is and what else to see in the county seat.

Dispensaries in White Plains, NY split neatly into two groups. Three operating licensed shops sit in or near the downtown grid around Mamaroneck Avenue and Main Street, and two more are on the Central Avenue side of the city. The state's verification page lists all five as of 2026, plus a sixth address whose adult-use sales had not started at last check. Adults 21+ coming to the county seat for shopping, court or the train will find one within a few minutes of almost anywhere in the city.

Downtown: Mamaroneck Avenue, Main Street and Hall Avenue

  • The Purple Owl Dispensary, 405 Mamaroneck Avenue, on the long avenue that runs from downtown toward Mamaroneck. Open since 2024.
  • Leafology Cannabis Company, 244 Main Street, in the heart of downtown. Open since 2024 under a conditional license, the social-equity round that opened New York's first adult-use shops.
  • Starlife Dispensary, 1 Hall Avenue. Open since 2025.

Downtown is the easy version for anyone arriving on Metro-North's Harlem Line, since the station and the shopping streets sit close together and the grid is walkable.

One more downtown address appears on the verification page: Etain, 75 Mamaroneck Avenue. The state register lists it as a registered organization, the category for the companies that ran New York's medical program before adult-use sales began, and shows its adult-use registration as not yet operating. Call before counting on it.

Central Avenue and Aqueduct Road

  • Cannabis Realm NY White Plains, 475 Central Avenue, open since early 2024 and one of the first adult-use shops in the city.
  • NY Flos, 45 Aqueduct Road, off Central Avenue.

Central Avenue is the city's big commercial strip outside downtown, and these two shops suit anyone arriving by car who would rather skip downtown parking.

The register also lists licensed White Plains locations at 351 Central Avenue and 130 Westchester Avenue that are not yet open. Neither belongs in a plan until it appears on the verification page.

Reading the two state lists

The state publishes two lists, and they do not always agree. The dispensary verification page names the shops tied to the QR-code system, the ones a customer can check at the door. The license register lists every license, including locations that are approved but not yet open, under the legal entity's name rather than the sign out front. When the two disagree, the verification page plus a phone call is the safer guide.

Before the visit

  • Verify first. Verify licensed status via the OCM QR code at cannabis.ny.gov. The code is posted at every licensed shop, and a scan rules out the unlicensed storefronts that look the same from the street.
  • ID. Adults 21+ only, with a valid government-issued photo ID. Out-of-state licenses are accepted.
  • Limits. Up to three ounces of flower and 24 grams of concentrate in possession.
  • Edibles. Start low, go slow, and read the serving size on the label.
  • Tax. A 9 percent state and 4 percent local retail cannabis tax applies at checkout.
  • Hours. They vary by shop and season, and change around holidays. Check the shop's own site the day you go.
  • Getting home. Purchases stay sealed, and driving impaired is illegal in New York.

The city that named a battle

The Battle of White Plains was fought on October 28, 1776, after the summer's fighting around New York City had pushed Washington's army north into Westchester. The city keeps its Revolutionary history in a few compact places rather than one big site, which suits a short visit.

The Jacob Purdy House at 60 Park Avenue served as Washington's headquarters in 1778, when the Continental Army returned to the area. The White Plains Historical Society maintains it, the small park around it is open to walk, and tours of the house are by appointment. It pairs easily with a loop through downtown.

In winter, the city's Ebersole Ice Rink in Delfino Park at 110 Lake Street runs public skating sessions on weekends and Friday evenings, which makes it the default plan for a house full of kids.

All of it is public: the parks, the historic site grounds, the sidewalks and the rink. New York state law prohibits cannabis consumption on state-owned land and in public spaces, and the city's streets and plazas are no exception.

Beyond White Plains

White Plains has the county's second-largest cluster of licensed shops after Yonkers, which has seven on the verification page. To the north, licensed shops in Ossining, Peekskill and Tarrytown cover the river side of the county. The White Plains hub collects everything published about the city, the dispensary map has every licensed address, and what's on this season is on the events calendar.
